On The Waterfront and the 27th Academy Awards
In this episode of Worthy, Ben and Jon take a deep dive into the 1954 classic "On The Waterfront". The 8-time Academy Award winning film features Marlon Brando's iconic performance as a conflicted gang member and his moral struggle to be something more in his life than a "bum".
Ben and Jon also discuss the importance of aspect ratio to a film and how that impacts the films overall tone. "On The Waterfront" is also considered an allegorical piece for director Elia Kazan and his own conflict during the Red Scare in 1950s Hollywood.
